Choosing the Right 3-in1 EMF Meter

Before Buying a 3-in-1 EMF/RF Meter, Consider This: Do you want your readings displayed in milliGauss (mG) and milliwatts (mW), or nanoTesla (nT) and microWatts (µW)?

Most 3-in-1 meters use milliGauss and milliwatts because they are designed for the U.S. market. In contrast, European standards use nanoTesla and microWatts. While both unit systems provide the same results, the way readings are displayed significantly impacts perception.

The issue? U.S. unit values (mG and mW/m²) often make EMF levels appear lower. In contrast, European units (nT and µW/m²) provide a clearer picture of exposure.

The MITO METER 2.0 [EURO]: No Downplaying EMF Exposure

Unlike most 3-in-1 meters that use misleading unit values—such as milliGauss, milliwatts per meter squared, or V/m for RF—the Mito Meter follows European standards, in terms of measurement methods.

Example Comparisons:

  • 3–5 milliGauss (mG) may seem low, but it's equivalent to 300–500 nanoTesla (nT)—a level linked to serious health risks from power lines and electrical infrastructure. The average background magnetic field in most Australian homes ranges from 0.2–1mG (20–100 nT).

  • 5–10 mW/m² sounds small, but it's actually 5,000–10,000 µW/m², far exceeding biologically safe exposure limits.

  • The Building Biology “slight concern” level for RF/5G/microwave radiation in sleeping areas is just 0.1–10 µW/m² (0.0001–0.01 mW/m²).

Using multiple decimal points in RF readings increases the chance of errors. The Mito Meter eliminates this issue, making exposure data easier to interpret.

Which Meter is Right for You?

Some people prefer U.S. unit values because they are familiar with them. For those users, the White RD-10s are the better choice. However, if you are sensitive to EMF and microwave radiation, the Mito Meter is the better option, as it provides more detailed low-level radiation readings.

Many users simply want a straightforward meter to check for EMF hotspots occasionally and won’t use it frequently. The White RD-10 is perfect for that. However, those who rely on a meter daily or weekly as part of their routine would benefit more from the Black Mito Meter.

Why Customers Choose the ENV RD-10 [AU] or the MITO METER 📌 A property developer needed to inspect a site for underground transmission lines just hours before bidding. With no prior EMF experience, he needed a simple, easy-to-use meter. The ENV RD-10 [AU], featuring a basic nine-LED display, was the perfect choice.

📌 A nurse aware of EMF health risks wanted a screening meter to educate her colleagues. Already familiar with EMFs and following experts like Jack Kruse, she chose the Mito Meter, which provides more detailed and health-relevant readings.

📌 A customer returned a Safe & Sound 2 RF meter, believing it was faulty because it constantly displayed red—no matter how much shielding she used. In reality, her radiation levels were so high that only a full Faraday cage would have helped. Some people struggle to accept their exposure levels. For them, starting with the Mito Meter might be overwhelming because it highlights low-level non-native EMFs more than any other 3-in-1 meter.

Making EMF Detection Simple

At Blake's, we offer user-friendly 3-in-1 meters that make EMF measurement and mitigation simple—without overwhelming those hesitant to make changes, while still rewarding those committed to creating the ultimate low-EMF environment. The ENV RD-10 [AU] is a soft landing—a gentle, approachable introduction to EMF awareness that’s still highly capable for environmental screening. In contrast, the new Mito Meter is a hard landing—a wake-up call for some, and an answered prayer for others, thanks to its ultra-sensitive low-EMF detection layout.
